The UMI series is designed by the Norwegian designer Jennifer Cena. The series combines elegance with authenticity and sustainability, which appeals to modern aesthetics and values.

UMI means sea in Japanese, which has strong references to the Nordic and simple design. The designer's idea was to create a natural expression that harmonizes with the Nordic spirit. The result has been an aesthetic series of seating furniture in solid oak from FSC®-certified forests (FSC® N002763), with hand-woven and natural Oekotex®-certified flax webbing, which fits perfectly into your Nordic home, where simplicity and functionality are important keywords.

The natural beauty of the oak and the structure of the natural linen belt fit into both classic, minimalist and maximalist interior themes. The artisanal care and attention put into shaping and working the oak results in unique details and a handcrafted quality and finish that differs from mass-produced furniture. Here you get a piece of furniture that can last for many years - and perhaps be passed down for generations.

A series in 6 different variants

The UMI series in solid oak consists of 6 pieces of seating furniture - including stools, benches and a daybed, and there is guaranteed to be one that fits perfectly into your personal interior design. You can use the UMI series in the entrance hall, in the bedroom, in the dressing room, along the dining table, in the bathroom or in other places where an extra seat is needed or where you need a beautiful detail.

The unique daybed can be used both as a bench or for overnight guests. If you add a few large, attractive cushions, it can also be transformed into a nice little sofa or a sunbed on the covered terrace or in an orangery.

Sustainable materials

UMI is handcrafted by skilled carpenters in solid oak from FSC®-certified forests (FSC® N002763). When you choose FSC, you help take care of our common land, as the wood comes from responsible forestry, where the people and animals that live in and around the forests are also taken care of.

The linen belts are Oeko-tex® certified and are produced without toxins. This certification protects both you and the environment against brominated flame retardants and other unwanted and potentially harmful chemicals. The certification sets stricter requirements for the content of substances harmful to health than the legislation does - and we would like to take the extra precautions for your health.
