We spend a lot of time around the dining table, and therefore a good dining chair should be both beautiful and comfortable to sit in. Our architect-designed dining chairs are designed timelessly, so they fit into your decor for many years - maybe your new, beautiful dining chairs will even be passed down to the next generation. See our selection of aesthetic designer dining chairs here on the page.

Poul M. Volther's favorite chair
The J111 chair was designed by Poul M. Volther in 1971. The chair had a special place in the designer's heart when he won a furniture award for the beautiful design.
This chair is both comfortable and beautiful - and thus another good example of Poul M. Volther's fantastic talent as a furniture designer. The chair J111 is for you who love Danish craftsmanship and would like to combine timeless design with optimal sitting comfort.
The minimalist J111 chair has many uses. Use it as a dining table chair, in the entrance hall, in the bedroom and your walk-in closet, in the summer house or as an extra chair that can be quickly taken out when you have many guests. With its wide seat and curved back, the J111 has a very high sitting comfort, while the slightly tapered legs create extra stability. They can be unscrewed so that the chair does not take up much space during transport, or if you want to have a couple of chairs ready as a spare.
The MAKE nordic relaunched version of the Volthers J111 is made of solid FSC®-certified oak with a water-based, natural matt or black lacquer.
A responsible chair
The J111 chair is handmade in oak from FSC®-certified forests and other responsible sources in collaboration with Danish suppliers and is manufactured at a recognized furniture factory in West Jutland. When we choose FSC-certified products, we do so out of consideration for both nature, people and animals.
The chair is packed in FSC-certified cardboard and sent with GLS. The legs are easily screwed on before the chair is put into use. In this way, we avoid wasted space and unnecessary air in the packaging. The transport vehicles have room for more furniture, and do not have to drive as many times. This provides a more environmentally friendly transport.
Details of the chair
The J111 chair is handmade by skilled cabinetmakers and is assembled and polished by hand to give the chair its soft and beautiful finish. The seat is made of 30 mm. oak veneer, which gives it a strong and stable construction, while the legs and back are made of solid oak. The back has contour cut and bent pieces of wood that give the chair its characteristic and light appearance.

MAKE a difference
"We strive to create furniture of high design quality, with great consideration for the environment, and with the least possible impact on our common earth. For if there is something that follows us for a long time in this life, it is our furniture. When we produce the furniture in good quality, and take good care of it, it can last for many years and maybe be passed down through generations. In this way, we may be able to make a small difference and minimize the buy-and-throw-away mentality"
- Line Olesen, Founder
