Our indoor benches are made of good materials, and the quality doesn't get any better. At MAKE nordic, we take responsibility for the environment very seriously, which is why our range only consists of designer benches in FSC-labelled wood. This means that our designer benches are globally recognized for being sustainable - both when it comes to good working conditions for the people who work in nature and for the materials used for the indoor benches.

MAKE a difference

"We strive to create furniture of high design quality, with great consideration for the environment, and with the smallest possible footprint on our shared earth. Because if there is something that follows us for a long time in this life, it is our furniture. When we produce the furniture in good quality, and take good care of them, they can last for many years and perhaps be passed down for generations. That way, we can perhaps make a small difference and minimize the buy-and-throw-away mentality."

Jennifer Cena

Jennifer Cena is a designer from Norway, born and raised in the Norwegian mountains. This has given her a very special relationship with nature, which she reflects time and time again in her designs with the help of expression and choice of materials. She was born in 1979 and has a strong background from the School of Art and Design in Bergen. There is no doubt that she has a distinct sense of aesthetics and a fondness for natural materials and organic forms that you rarely see in others. Even before she finished her education, she had a whole series of her beautiful furniture in production, which helps to underline her ability to be present, innovative and current in her designs. She is the designer behind the UMI series, which had its prototypes developed in connection with the Bergen Art and Design School's exhibition in the Green House during the Stockholm Furniture Light Fair in 2016. Since then, the series has grown, and the result is now a daybed, coffee table, stools and benches in both oak and wild ash.
